TISCALI SELECTS EUTELSAT’s TOOWAY™ SATELLITE BROADBAND SERVICE TO EXTEND BROADBAND IN ITALY

Tiscali, one of Italy’s main independent telecommunications companies, and Eutelsat Communications (Paris Euronext: ETL) today announced the signature of an agreement that will allow Tiscali to expand its range of broadband products with the launch of a satellite service targeting homes across Italy beyond range of high-speed terrestrial networks. Branded Tiscali BroadbandSat, the service uses the Tooway™ consumer broadband technology provided by Eutelsat Communications and its Skylogic affiliate. Tiscali’s choice of Tooway™ will enable it to leverage the seamless coverage provided by satellites to reach into the 12% of the Italian population unserved by ADSL or fibre. > more (pdf, 127 KB)

The Tooway™ broadband service operated by the Skylogic affiliate of Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) has been selected by Brennercom, the principal telecom operator in the South Tyrol, to ensure there are no exclusions to the benefits of broadband across the Italian-Germanspeaking province. Brennercom is deploying Tooway™ in partnership with Raiffeisen OnLine, a leading ISP and Run, a network infrastructure manager specialised in serving banks in the South Tyrol.

SATELLITE BROADBAND SERVICE FOR FRENCH HOMES

Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) today announced the signature of a far-reaching contract concluded between its Skylogic broadband affiliate and SFR, one of the leading telecommunications operators in France. SFR has selected Tooway™ to meet demand for
broadband from its customers beyond ADSL coverage. Called the ‘Satellite Internet Pack’ the new service supplied by SFR was launched today using capacity on Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ 6 satellite. It will be extended on Eutelsat’s new-generation KA-SAT satellite whose launch is scheduled for end 2010. With more than 80 beams operating in the Ka-band, KA-SAT will enable up to two million homes across Europe to benefit from broadband access. > more (pdf, 119 KB)

Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL), Europe’s leading satellite operator, announces that it will increase from July 1 the speed of its innovative Tooway™ consumer broadband service to 3.6 Mbps from 2 Mbps for no added cost. Maximum uplink speeds have also increased to 384 kbps for all customers. Using satellite technology available from just €25 per month, Tooway™ can now offer Ireland’s rural homes, and those in slowband areas, access to 2 megabit per second (2Mbps) broadband services without the need for any existing telephone line infrastructure. EUTELSAT AND ITS PARTNERS LAUNCH SATELLITE BROADBAND IN FRANCE FOR 35 EUROS PER MONTH

Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) and its first partners, Numeo and Sat2Way, today announced the immediate launch in France of broadband access at no more than 35 euros a month, equipment included. Following a contract signed on July 27 between TeleCable and Skylogic (Eutelsat’s broadband affiliate), Telecable is now initiating widespread deployment of the Tooway™ satellite broadband service in Asturias (a northern region of Spain).
